Y’all know this is like my favorite topic to chat about and of course I would put together a gift guide for all you vintage lovers out there. If you asked me what I love getting for Christmas I would say anything vintage! I don’t need new shiny anything give me old, dusty, rusty and chippy please. These are some of my favorite vintage goodies that I own or would love to own and would be great ideas for any vintage lover. I know it is hard for some people to find a lot of these things in person so I hope I can make it easier for you to shop by finding them for you online.
This is a great time to start making your list for your loved one or ones to start shopping as well. I love that my boys know me so well that when my husband takes them out to buy me a gift they know to go to the antique shop and can pick out things that fit my style exactly. Ok let’s get started!
Vintage Round Sifters
You know I had to include a vintage sifter on my list. I get asked a lot about my sifter wall and I have been lucky enough to find a lot locally. I know several of you are not so lucky so I found a few reasonably priced ones online for you.
Old Advertising Pots
I get asked about my dundee marmalade jars a lot when I share my Hoosier cabinet since I have my collection displayed there. I fell in love with the graphics and the patina. I love grouping them together or using them individually. I want to expand my collection to other advertising pots.
Vintage Yellow Ware
I have amassed a nice collection of vintage yellow ware and I am always looking to add to it. My absolute favorite piece is my old butter crock that I found at an estate sale for a whopping fifteen dollars!!! I found one similar for you but it is much pricier.
Ironstone of Course
Ironstone is one of my favorite things to hunt down in a thrift shop but I know some of you may not have my luck so look what pieces I found online. I like to look at unusual pieces online that I may not find in person.
Vintage Scales
Probably my first and biggest collection I have would be my vintage rusty scales. I love using them in a vignette or for display on top of my kitchen cabinets. I think every vintage lover needs an old scale.
Vintage Grain Sacks
I use grain sacks everyday. I love to fold them over and cover the backs of my couches and chairs with them, use them as a table runner, or hang them on a peg rack or ladder. They are so versatile and will become an instant collection once you buy one you will want more!
Old Quilts
Old quilts have my heart so much so that I shared with you my own collection here. They can be quite pricey and so I found a few that seemed reasonable for the condition and colors.
Primitive Baskets
Old primitive baskets have my heart and I love trying to find them at thrift shops. The look of one hanging off a peg rack or sitting on top of an old cabinet or cupboard just screams simple farmhouse to me. I found a few that seemed reasonable and fit the primitive look.
Old Primitive Tools
I love to create a cute vignette with old primitive items like a masher, rolling pin or spoon. These are easy items to find and would make a great small collection especially if you are short on space.
Vintage Crocks
If you have followed me for any time than you know that I had to include crocks on my list. I have always wanted a bee sting crock and boy they can be pricey so I am still on the hunt. Here are a few reasonable ones for you.
These are just a few ideas to get you started and I may come back with a part two later. I feel like any of these items would make your vintage lover happy at Christmas or any other special occasion. I know each of these items would be on my Christmas wish list!
