I have two amazing sons Connor who is 15 and Adam who is 13. They both are amazing boys who love to help their mom out. Adam especially loves to help me bake and cook. When he was in the 5th grade he had to do a project and that is when he came up with his own Snickerdoodle cookie recipe. We call them Adam’s snickerdoodle cookies. They are so soft and chewy. We all love them! He had to make them the other day for another school project and so I thought why not share them with you. He took a few recipes and modified them and came up with this…
Ingredients for Adam’s Snickerdoodle Cookie
- 2 3/4 cups All purpose flour
- 1 cup of room temperature butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon cream of tarter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Cinnamon Mixture
- 1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350.
First you need to cream the butter and sugars in a mixing bowl using a mixer. Then add the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined. Next in a separate bowl combine all your dry ingredients. Then you add a little of the mixed dry ingredients to the wet ingredients a little at a time and then mix. You will do this until all of the dry ingredients are mixed into the wet ingredients.
You then need to chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. After the dough is chilled take it out and start rolling the dough into small balls and dip them in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Set them on a cookie sheet to bake. Bake for 12 minutes. Makes around 2 dozen.
Finished Product
Let the cookies cool on a wire rack and eat and enjoy! They freeze up really nice too. You can roll the dough in the cinnamon and sugar mixture and then freeze or freeze the already baked cookies. I have another great cookie recipe here.
