Easy Tips on How To Create A Warm and Cozy Home

How to create a warm and cozy home in 4 easy steps

Do you ever look at pages of homes on Instagram and wonder how they make it look so warm and cozy? Well I am here to let you in on the secrets to achieve it yourself!

  • Layers are one of my favorite ways to add in warmth. I love to use old quilts and grain sacks on the backs of my furniture. You can also drape an old quilt or throw over the arm of a chair or couch. A great soft rug adds in some warmth to a stark room with bare floors.
  • Texture is my next go to when creating a warm and a cozy vibe. I love to use vintage items all throughout my home and they also provide me with the added texture I am looking for. I love baskets, wood crates, chippy salvage pieces, and ironstone to create and add texture to my space. Mixing wood with a smooth ironstone piece works wonders. Adding a basket to the top of a cabinet may sound simple but looks instantly cozy plus its added hidden storage!
  • Plants real or faux are my next tip. I personally love real plants as you can see I have them all throughout my home. If you don’t have a green thumb then try using faux greenery. You can add it to a basket, crock, or a wooden crate. They soften up a space that may look cold or may have too much texture. Plants or greenery instantly add warmth to any room!
  • Lighting can definitely set a cozy and warm vibe to your space. I love to use candles daily and lamps instead of overhead lighting in the evening. Scented candles can invoke a cozy feeling too so its a win win!

I hope these tips inspire you to go shop your home and add in some warmth and coziness yourself. I would love to know how you create a warm and cozy home so please leave me a comment!
