Primitive Halloween Decor

I am not much of a Halloween decorator but since I have kids they like a few touches here and there. In keeping with the style of my home I only add in touches of Halloween decor that are more farmhouse or primitive. I have been lucky and found some great pieces at local shops like TJ Maxx in years past and recently I have found some at what I call primitive shops. These cute shops are few and far between and if you are lucky enough to have one near you take advantage and go check it out. You will find some cute seasonal items and some even have antiques!

I will show you a few primitive Halloween touches that I have added in my home. If you stick with the style you decorate with then adding in fun seasonal decor like Halloween will fit in seamlessly.

Primitive Halloween Kitchen Decor

First I added a few fun jack o lantern pieces that add in a soft glow as well. This cute metal candle holder is perfect as a part of my island centerpiece. You could also add battery operated fairy lights to the inside if you didn’t want a candle. The cute gourd piece came with a battery operated candle to stick inside and looked so cute added to my kitchen table centerpiece. I love turning off all the lights in the kitchen in the evening and turning it on.

The other little area in my kitchen that I decorated is a countertop area under some open shelving. This area doesn’t get much use for food prep so it is fun to decorate. I added another jack o lantern candle holder I found years ago along with a stitched the witch is in sign both were found at TJ Maxx. The colors match my kitchen and add such a fun touch.

Primitive Halloween Family Room

The family room is another fun spot to add some Halloween touches since we all use it. I added a fun black buffalo check garland to my mantle and a black cat to my stacked stools. I kept it very simple in here but it still evokes a Halloween feel.

Primitive Halloween Living Room

It is technically called a living room but I call it my boy room since my boys hang out and play video games in there. I only added a fun Halloween display bowl that has a fun jack o lantern on it.

Primitive Halloween Dining Room

The dining room is again kept simple by only adding in a couple handmade wood ghosts that I found online. I added them into my centerpiece because they were so rustic and fit in perfectly. I love the small touches more than the bigger ones unless it is a fun sign.

Primitive Halloween Entryway

This cute primitive jack o lantern pillow was a cute added touch to my entryway bench and old ticking pillow. I love how he stands out so simple but so cute! Then I finished by putting this cute pumpkin sign to my thrifted nail keg. I like using things in unexpected ways even signs!

I hope that you enjoyed my little Halloween touches. Things that I look for when shopping are handmade items, to me those add in a cozy touch. I recommend just looking around the seasonal things in your home stores and search out ones that look more handmade or primitive.
