5 Vintage Pieces to Add into Your Fall Decor

It is Pumpkin Spice season and you know what that means…it is time to decorate for Fall!!! I love using vintage items seasonally to add in that warm lived in look. It is also budget friendly because these items you can use year round as well. Using vintage items also adds in a little individuality to your Fall decor. I have been an avid collector of vintage for several years so I have a lot items that work well with my style and Fall decor.

Let’s take a look at a five vintage items that I think are great to transition into your Fall decor. I love the simplicity of the days gone by and love to decorate in that same way. I use items that would have been functional and pretty to display back in those times. That was a big reason why I chose these items.

Crocks are a vintage Fall Decor Favorite

Crocks just have my heart. The patina and shapes of them are so beautiful to display. They are my secret weapon in taking up a space that I may find hard to fill. I love adding in faux greenery or bittersweet in the Fall. Crocks also look great empty. I love to group them on top of a cabinet or underneath a table. Crocks make great utensil holders in a kitchen too. They are so versatile and that makes them number one on my list of items I look for when out scouring vintage shops.

Vintage Baskets for Fall Decor

Baskets are a staple piece for Fall decor. I love sitting them on a cabinet or table with bittersweet hanging out. They compliment so many other vintage items as well. A favorite combination you will see in my Fall decor are vintage baskets and crocks with an old chamber candle holder mixed in for the cozy factor. The texture and handmade shape just seal it for me. I have been so lucky lately to find some great vintage baskets at my local thrift shop. I can never pass one up!

Vintage Quilts

I just smile when I think of my vintage quilts. I love knowing someone put their hard work and heart into them. I appreciate the craftsmanship and the style of each one. Quilts are another staple piece for me year round because I change them out seasonally by color and weight. I love my darker colored ones for Fall and Winter and prefer my lighter ones for Spring and Summer. I add them to the back of my couch or chair or lay them folded on my bed or ottoman to add a pop of color and that time worn texture.

Yellow Ware

Yellow ware bowls are beautiful and the perfect vintage piece for Fall. The crackled yellow color is a favorite to mix in with my other Fall items. I love to group mine together on my kitchen shelves. They also look cute as part of a fun vignette on an island or kitchen table. I added in small homemade cinnamon applesauce pumpkins to my yellow ware bowl on my island. The recipe is saved in my Instagram highlights in case you want to try to make them. You can also fill a vintage cabinet or cupboard with it too. Yellow ware is another item I look for when out junking.

Wood crates or totes

Wood crates are another functional piece that adds in so much beauty to a space. I also love the old wood totes or tool carriers as centerpieces on coffee tables or dining room tables. They look so cute with a couple of small pumpkins and maybe some bittersweet or other greenery. So simple but so pretty. Crates can be used in fun ways too like turn them on one side and put a little Fall vignette inside. I like to add in greenery and put them on top of a cabinet to add in a different color and texture. Mix it with ironstone or a crock for added contrast. Sometimes the old graphics are the best part of a crate so show that off too.

I hope you have enjoyed this little guide of some of my favorite vintage items to use in Fall decor. If you walked into my home you would currently see each item on display. I haven’t purchased anything new for my Fall decor this year except for some dried floral’s. I truly do love using my vintage items as my seasonal staple pieces and believe they just make a home so unique. These are also great pieces to be on the lookout for when shopping your antique shops, thrift stores, and flea markets. I would love to know what vintage pieces you love to use in your Fall decor so please leave me a comment!
